Join AFNS online registration: Admission 2025

What is AFNS

AFNS stands for Armed Forces Nursing Services. AFNS is joint branch of armed forces of Pakistan only for females.  This is a commissioned program that offers young Pakistani females an opportunity to serve in the nation as nurses as commissioned officer Nurses in Medical Field. If you want the nonmedical role you may opt lady cadet course.

Last apply date for online registration

Last date to apply for afns is 13 june to 15 august. AFNS online registration is opened from Jun 29,2025 to Aug 14,2025 (online only).

Admission types H2

There are two types of AFNS admission to join afns. One is trained nursing (as lieutenant) and other is fresh medical students of F Sc for BS Nursing

  • AFNS Permanent Commission, BS nursing (having F Sc Pre-Medical)
  • Short Service commission (Trained nurses)

Eligibility criteria to join AFNS both Admission types

Both Admission types have different eligibility Criteria so here is detailed information for eligibility criteria

AFNS Permanent Commission Criteria

AGE: 17 TO 25

Education required: Matric with Science Minimum 60% Marks plus F Sc (Pre-Medical) with minimum 50% Marks.

MARITAL STATUS: Unmarried/Widow/separated/Divorce without encumbrance

MIN HEIGHT: 5 FEET 152.4cms

Weight: As per Body Mass Index 

GENDER: Female

Nationality: citizen of Pakistan and Domicile Holders of Azad Kashmir/Gilgit- Baltistan. Upon final selection, candidates with dual nationality will have to surrender nationalities other than Pakistan.

AFNS Short Service commission criteria

AGE: 18 TO 28 Years

Education required: 03 years Diploma & 01 years midwifery, BSc Generic, Post (RN) BSc Nursing

MARITAL STATUS: Married/Unmarried

MIN HEIGHT: 5 FEET or 152.4cms

Weight: As per Body Mass Index

GENDER: Female

Nationality: citizen of Pakistan and Domicile Holders of Azad Kashmir/Gilgit- Baltistan. Upon final selection, candidates with dual nationality will have to surrender nationalities other than Pakistan.

Note: Candidates having O” Level degree are to obtain equivalence certificate and conversion of marks from Inter Board Coordination Commission (IBCC), ministry of education, Islamabad and attach that certificate with application form.

Candidates Who have passed F Sc Part-I Examination with minimum 50% marks and have appeared /appearing in F Sc Part-II Final Examination can also apply but they are to obtain “Hope Certificate” duly signed by Principal of college.

These candidates must submit an attested copy of F Sc Part-II Certificate/Mark Sheets to personnel Administration Directorate (PA-3C) General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi within 5 days of announcement of result, otherwise their selection will not be further processed.

Guidance for AFNS official website and online registration process

AFNS has no separate website for registration to join afns. Join Pak army website is also official website for AFNS registration

A candidate can register on website   www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk. A candidate is to visit the website for the exam slip after successful registration. Normally it takes 5 to 7 working days for the generation of the exam slip. Candidates will report on exact date and time given for the preliminary test. Test date once given on computerized roll no slip will not be changed. Candidates will also bring along documents (as per the list mentioned in advertisement). Candidates Must have basic working knowledge of the computer as the tests will be conducted on computers.

A Fee of Rupees 300/- is required to be deposited in NBP GHQ Branch (IBAN Number: PK46NBPA0330004256466227) with titles as ‘ Registration and Examination Fee Personnel Administration Directorate’.

Documents Required

These documents are required for test at army selection centres. Initial test will be conducted after documents verification.

    • Original Certificates / Detailed Marks Sheets along with two attested photocopies of Educational Certificates/Degrees.
    • For O level and A level students, Equivalence Certificate issued by Inter Board Coordination Commission IBCC is mandatory.
    • Candidate serving in Governments Institutions/Department must have NO Objection Certificate (NOC) from concerned department.
    • Attested photocopy of Domicile duly verified by issuing authority.
    • 2x attested photocopies of F Sc Part 1 (Pre-medical) detail marks certificate and Hope certificate from the principal of the college.
    • 2x Photocopies of Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or Form B Issued by NADRA.3x Colored Photos duly attested (front and back).
    • Attested passport size photographs must be pasted on application form.

Initial tests for AFNS are going to be started from Sep 07,2025 to Oct 09,2025 except. Sat and Sun and closed holidays

AFNS Further Selection Process

Successful Candidates will be called for interview by General Headquarters (GHQ) Selection Board. The interviews will be held at Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar and Quetta. Call up letters will be sent to successful candidates. Final selection will be made at GHQ on the basis of candidate’s overall performance

Training period For after joining AFNS

For BSc Nursing

4x year Training at AFPGMI Rawalpindi, CMH, Lahore, Kharia, Multan, Bahawalpur, Quetta and PNS Shifa Karachi.

For Trained Nursed

6 months Training for trained nurses for military training, discipline & conversion from civil life to military life

Bond

Finally selected candidates will be required to sign a BOND to serve in the Army for minimum period of Ten Year. The applicability of bond will commence on completion of BSN Degree at respective CMHs.

Yes females can apply for AFNS after FSc pre medical with minimum 50% marks.

For Girls minimum qualification to join AFNS is FSc. After matric girls can not join AFNS.
