What is AFNS
AFNS stands for Armed Forces Nursing Services. AFNS is joint branch of armed forces of Pakistan only for females. This is a commissioned program that offers young Pakistani females an opportunity to serve in the nation as nurses as commissioned officer Nurses in Medical Field. If you want the nonmedical role you may opt lady cadet course.

AFNS online registration 2026 has been opened from 29 June 2026 to 13 August 2026. Online apply is not one step process. It Includes several steps till appearance in Examination Hall.

AFNS Admission types/Entry Routes for AFNS
There are two types of Entry Routes to join afns. One is trained nursing (as lieutenant) and other is fresh medical students of F Sc for BS Nursing
- AFNS Permanent Commission, BS nursing (having F Sc Pre-Medical)
- Short Service commission (Trained nurses)
How Can Apply-Eligibilty Criteria for AFNS

Note For O Level degree Holders: Candidates having O” Level degree are to obtain equivalence certificate and conversion of marks from Inter Board Coordination Commission (IBCC), ministry of education, Islamabad and attach that certificate with application form.
Note For F Sc Part 1 Only:Candidates Who have passed F Sc Part-I Examination with minimum 50% marks and have appeared /appearing in F Sc Part-II Final Examination can also apply but they are to obtain “Hope Certificate” duly signed by Principal of college.
These candidates must submit an attested copy of F Sc Part-II Certificate/Mark Sheets to personnel Administration Directorate (PA-3C) General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi within 5 days of announcement of result, otherwise their selection will not be further processed.
How To Apply Online For AFNS 2026 on AFNS official website
- Go to the official website: Visit joinpakarmy.gov.pk and click on the AFNS registration link.
- Create your account: Register with your CNIC/B-Form number and a working mobile number. You will receive an OTP for verification.
- Fill the application form: Enter personal details, educational qualifications, domicile information, and upload required documents. Double-check everything — mistakes cause rejection.
- Pay the registration fee: Deposit Rs. 300/- in NBP GHQ Branch. IBAN: PK46NBPA0330004256466227. Title: Registration and Examination Fee Personnel Administration Directorate. Upload the deposit slip scan.
- Submit the application: Review and submit. Save your application reference number.
- Wait for exam slip: Normally takes 5–7 working days. Log back in to download your computerised roll number slip with your test centre, date, and time.

- Matric certificate and detailed marks sheet
- FSc Part-I and Part-II certificates / Hope Certificate (if appearing)

- Original educational certificates with 2 attested photocopies each
- O/A-Level candidates: IBCC Equivalence Certificate (mandatory)

- 3 coloured passport photos (attested front and back)
- CNIC / B-Form: 2 attested photocopies
- NOC from employer (if working in a government department)
- For Trained Nurses: PNC Registration Certificate

Selection Process After Registration for AFNS
After your exam slip is generated, the full AFNS selection process follows this sequence:
- Initial Written Test — Computer-based at your assigned AS&RC. Covers Verbal Intelligence, Non-Verbal Intelligence, and Academic subjects. See complete AFNS test preparation guide →
- Medical Examination — Basic medical at the selection centre (height, weight/BMI, eyesight, general fitness).
- GHQ Interview Board — Successful candidates called to interview boards in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, or Quetta.
- Final Merit List — Published on the basis of overall performance across all stages.
- Training Induction — 4 years BSc Nursing (Permanent Commission) or 6 months military training (Short Service Commission).

Training period For after joining AFNS
For BSc Nursing
4x year Training at AFPGMI Rawalpindi, CMH, Lahore, Kharia, Multan, Bahawalpur, Quetta and PNS Shifa Karachi.
For Trained Nursed
6 months Training for trained nurses for military training, discipline & conversion from civil life to military life
Bond
Finally selected candidates will be required to sign a BOND to serve in the Army for minimum period of Ten Year. The applicability of bond will commence on completion of BSN Degree at respective CMHs.
For AFNS BS Nursing Candidates must pass FSc pre medical with at least minimum 50% marks
For AFNS eligibility candidates minimum 153 cm height is required.
Yes females can apply for AFNS after FSc pre medical with minimum 50% marks.
For Girls minimum qualification to join AFNS is FSc. After matric girls can not join AFNS.
Yes You can apply for AFNS if you have apearred in F Sc part 2. For This You must have hope certificate by principle of college.
