Step 1# Understand AFNS Test syllabus & Pattern
Once you have applied, you’ll be called for the initial test, which is the very first challenge for your journey. This test is computer-based and held at designated Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS\&RCs). They conduct this test to evaluate IQ/Intelligence, Academic knowledge (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English) General Knowledge. Initial Test syllabus includes
- Verbal Intelligence test: tests logic, vocabulary, analogies, synonyms, and sentence completion.
- Non Verbal Intelligence Test: such as figure matching, shapes, and image-based logical reasoning

- Verbal intelligence test
- Nonverbal test
- Academic test

AFNS tests have mainly three parts. Verbal Intelligence test includes 84 questions in 30 minutes, non verbal intelligence test includes 64 questions in 30 minutes and AFNS academic test includes 50 questions in 25 minutes.
For initial tests candidates must score at least 50% marks to qualify for test although maximum should be obtained for competing the merit.
Duration of AFNS training depends on specific program through which girl got commissioned. 4 years training for BS nursing. 3 years training for general nursing training. 06 weeks training for for trained nurses ( with BS qualification) at AFPGMI Rawalpindi and Combined Military Hospitals (CMHs) Quetta,Khariaan, Multan.
AFNS initial tests 2026 will start after last date of online registration (last date is 13 August 2026). typically AFNS tests will start in early weeks of September 2026. Although exact dates will be mentioned here when announced officially.
