Commissioned Officers in PAF

A commissioned officer is a military officer  (equivalent to 17 scale Civil servant) in PAF. PAF commissioned officers lead, manage operations, and execute critical missions across various branches including flying, engineering, administrative, and support services.

In PAF there are two entry routes for commissioned officers jobs, one is Permanent Commission and other is Short service commission.

Join PAF after Fsc (Permananet commission)

You can join paf after Fsc as commissioned officer. Minimum education required for permanent commission is Fsc/Inter or equivalent. Available in core operational branches for like:

 Marital Status: Permanent Commission roles require unmarried status at the time of application.

 Marital Status: Short service Commission roles allow both Single/married personnel at the time of application.

Physical & Vision Standards Required for PAF commissioned officers

Height

  • Male: Minimum around 5’4” (163 cm)
  • Female: Minimum around 4’10”–5’0” (147–152 cm) depending on branch.

Vision

  • 6/6 vision (without glasses) is strictly required for many flying and combat roles.
  • Some ground branches may allow standards slightly relaxed or correctable vision on medical review.

Ineligibility / Disqualification Conditions for PAF Commissioned officer.

Understanding what can disqualify you is as important as eligibility. You cannot apply / progress in PAF selection if any of the following apply:


Twice rejected by ISSB for permanent commission and Once rejected by ISSB, AHQ,GHQ,NHQ, selection Boards for Masters qualification based commission.

Once rejected by ISSB for permanent commission and Twice rejected by ISSB, AHQ,GHQ,NHQ, selection Boards for Masters qualification based commission.
Dismissed / removed / debarred from government service, including armed forces.
Convicted in court of law for serious offenses.
Declared permanently medically unfit by appeal medical boards.
Medical conditions like active Hepatitis B / C (non-appealable).
False or forged documents submitted.
Dual nationalities not surrendered (if policy doesn’t allow dual status).
